We love Heidi-O-Photo's remarkable use of natural light. We love her candid and realistic approach to photography. Most of all we love that she places such a high importance on building a bond of trust and friendship with her clients, which is something we find so very refreshing. We decided to ask Heidi a few interview questions to get to know her a little bit better...
How did you get into photography?
I've always loved to create things- back when I was a kid, my mom would set up little craft projects for my brother and I. Then when I started high school I took black & white photography for two years, and just loved photographing my family and friends. Back then, when using film it was such an exciting process to plan and take the photos, then to have to wait to see the image till after developing the film and the prints. And that was really it, after college I started heidi-o-photo, and began photographing weddings in 2005.
What would you say is your favorite part of the wedding day?
I enjoy the entire wedding day, as an unfolding of story, but my favorite part is when I have time alone with the bride & groom. This is when we can all relax a bit, and enjoy the moment and create some really special beautiful moments for them to remember in images.

Do you have any favorite trends that you've seen popping up at weddings recently?
I think the best trend happening now is that people feel able to customize their weddings to themselves. Because of this every wedding is so different and exciting.
What's the best bit of advice you can give to couples who are still looking for a wedding photographer?
The most important thing in choosing a wedding photographer, is not only selecting a photographer who's style you like, but also one who's personality clicks with yours. You'll spend most of your wedding day with your photographer so it's important you feel comfortable and enjoy being with them.
